I am giving away a free ticket to the Women of Virtue conference here in Kansas City THIS weekend, January 29-30, 2010. The Women of Virtue conference is a Friday night/Saturday conference for women all about living a pure life in an impure world. Ticket includes admission to both days of the conference and lunch on Saturday.

Keynote speakers include Dannah Gresh (Author of And the Bride Wore White and Co-Author of Lies Young Women Believe) and Kimberley Hahn (Author of Chosen and Cherished: Biblical Wisdom for Your Marriage).

The conference aims to alert Christians to the intensity of the spiritual assault on our sexuality and to inspire them in a united counter attack. Side note: I will be leading a breakout on the topic of “Surviving and Thriving in a Sex-Filled World,” all about preventing and overcoming a pornography addiction. While there are a couple of breakouts on the topic of spouses dealing with their husband porn addiction, this breakout will be on the only one discussing WOMEN’S addiction to pornography.

I slowed down enough today to let my trusty old external hard-drive back up my computer. The reason for doing so is that I realized I haven’t backed-up since November.

And to give some idea of how dumb that is—since November: I have written two chapters from my book and an entire book proposal, designed a Dirty Girls Brochure and Dirty Girls business cards, compiled an entire expense sheet, downloaded A LOT of music and who knows what else.

I was just one computer glitch away from losing a lot of stuff and not to mention my sanity.

I have been too busy doing, doing, doing that I haven’t taken time to protect my computer from harm. Same thing can be said for how I live my life spiritually. I just keep going, going, going without making sure I am in the Word and prayed up with the full armor on.

Good reminder for me that there are also times when I just need to back-up my real life.

In preparation for a magazine photo shoot I have coming up… I went shopping over the weekend. I needed a new outfit because according to my mom, I don’t own anything nice enough.

Unfortunately I am the height of most hobbits and fairy-tale figures, so I have a difficult time finding nice pants. I found a great pair of jeans/pants that I loved—that went well with a blouse I also found. And might I add all of which were on sale.

Yay me.

But the jeans were about a foot too long. So, I made my way over to a tailor today. To be honest, I’ve never been to a tailor before. I am just really hoping they turn out well.

I’ll find out in a week.
